MPC Wins Two Asian Power Awards

Meiya Power Company Limited (MPC) has recently won two awards in the 2006 Asian Power Awards organized by Charlton Media Group. The awards program aims to recognize the industry players in Asia for their outstanding performances and contributions to the power sector. The two awards received by MPC are: Independent Power Producer of the Year and Best Power Plant Upgrade in Asia for the Jingyuan II Project.
Accepting the awards at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Colin Tam, Chairman and CEO of MPC said, "A vital key to MPC's success is our overriding commitment to provide sustainable and reliable energy solutions to the communities we serve. The awards process was based on nominations from industry and final judging was done by a panel of experts. There were altogether 25 awards in different categories, with winners from major utilities and market leaders in the power industry.
